Discover new data assets
Access the new data assets discovery page
To view the list of data assets configured:
Go to the "Discover new assets" page by clicking on the "cog" at the top right corner of the page, then click on "Discover new assets"
Then you will see the list of all "data assets discovery" jobs configured
Add a new configuration to discover new data assets
To add a new configuration, click on the "+" icon, then fill the popup with all the required information.
You need to assign an application to the configuration in order to associate the new assets and attributes to an object in sidecar. If your application is not in the list, go the application page to create the missing one.
If you would like to run the job on a distant server, you need to create a Linked server and give the appropriate rights to "sidecar system" user.

Execute the discovery configurations
To execute the configuration, click on the "Play" icon. All the configurations with the "To be processed" status will be executed. Based on the size of the database to analyze, it may take several minutes. The status on the configuration will be updated every 15 seconds.
View the results of a discovery
To view the results of a discovery, click on the "i" icon. You will see all the results of the previous runs.

Update a discovery configuration
To update a discovery configuration, click on the "Edit" icon. You will then be able to modify the parameters of the configuration.
Delete a discovery configuration
To delete a discovery configuration, click on the "Garbage" icon. The configuration will be deleted. Please note that it is not possible to restore a configuration.
Impact on the status on a data asset or an attribute
When a asset search is triggered, the status of a data asset or an attribute can change. Here are the rules applied:
Deprecated = 0
Active = 1
Draft = 2
Hidden = 3
A new object is discovered
An object is updated
An object is no present in DB anymore
An object previously deleted is again available in DB
